What to Expect on the Day of Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery

On the day of your Brazilian butt lift in Fairfax at Chopra Cosmetic Surgery, or one of the surrounding surgery centers, Dr. Chopra and the staff will welcome you to the practice. It is our goal to make your BBL feel as comfortable as possible and produce the best results. Once you are settled in the surgical suite, a member of the staff will review your surgical plan with you to ensure you are ready to proceed. Once you are good to go, a board-certified anesthesiologist will administer general anesthesia so that you are asleep during the procedure.

Once the patient is sedated, Dr. Chopra will begin the procedure. First, liposuction is performed on areas with excess fat, such as the lower back, hips, or thighs. A small cannula is used to remove fat cells, which are then purified to remove excess fluids and debris.
Once the fat is purified, Dr. Chopra will make small incisions around your buttocks and inject the fat into the desired areas. The injections are carefully placed to ensure a natural, balanced look. The fat is typically injected into the upper and outer parts of the buttocks for the best shape.

Once the desired shape is achieved, the incisions are sealed with stitches, and the gluteal area may be wrapped with a dressing, topped by a compression garment.

A BBL will take anywhere from two to four hours, depending on the extent of the fat transfer.

Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery

After your Brazilian butt lift, it is normal to experience some discomfort, swelling, and bruising. You’ll need to wear a compression garment around the areas where liposuction was performed to aid in healing. Pain medication may be prescribed to help manage discomfort during the first few days.
