What is Eyelid Surgery?
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that alters the upper and/or lower eyelids. It aims to address issues such as sagging skin, excess fat, and puffiness around the eyes, all of which can affect a personās appearance and vision. The surgery can be performed on either the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both.
- Upper Blepharoplasty – Incisions along the upper eyelid’s natural crease remove excess skin and fat. The incision is hidden when the eye is open, leaving minimal visible scarring.
- Lower Blepharoplasty – Incisions are made either just below the lower lash line or inside the lower eyelid (transconjunctival incision). This allows the surgeon to remove or reposition excess skin and fat while avoiding visible scars.
